Very good documentary about ten-year olds in low-income public schools around New York learning the basics of ballroom dance and trying to advance through city-wide competitions. You'll care about the kids. Not a syrupy Disney competition movie... this is about real life and real people. Recommended. Young viewers will get bored, but kids of this age or near it will want to talk about it.

When I'm not working on helping businesses put together better webinars, I like to watch movies in my home theater room. I have a large collection on laserdisc and DVD, but these days I go through a lot of Netflix rentals. I rent in many genres, including comedy, action, suspense, documentaries, drama, musicals, foreign, independent, and classics. Since I'm spending all that time with these things, I thought I would share my opinions with you. All reviews in this blog refer to the DVD version available from Netflix. My views reflect my experience watching at home, without a giant cinema screen or supportive audience. That's a different experience. I only started gathering my reviews a few months ago, so many good (and deliciously bad) filims that I would like to share with you don't have reviews. I also am not reviewing my personal collection. But I do give some tips as to favorites in the Indexes section.
